People of every age are invited to become part of Fayette County Community Action Agency, Inc.’s (FCCAA) annual St. Patrick’s Day weekend of festivities. The annual trio of events has become an area tradition.
On Saturday, FCCAA hosts the St. Patrick’s Day Stride with Pride, a non-competitive mall walk. For the event, participants have one hour to walk as many laps as possible around the inside perimeter of the Uniontown Mall as they can. For each lap walked, the participant will receive tickets to be used for prize drawings. Because the event is non-competitive, walkers of every fitness level can comfortably participate. All proceeds from this event benefit the senior citizens served by FCCAA.
Also on Saturday, the Fayette County Nurse-Family Partnership program hosts the annual 5Y Diaper Derby. This event is a fun-filled competition for crawling babies and toddlers up to 36 months old. Crawlers will crawl five yards from one cheering “coach” to another cheering “coach.” Walkers will walk five yards from one cheering “coach” to another cheering “coach.” All proceeds from the Diaper Derby benefit the families served by the Fayette County Nurse-Family Partnership.
On Sunday morning, FCCAA hosts the annual Boston Beanery St. Patrick’s Day 5K Run/Walk. All proceeds benefit Fayette County families in crisis served by FCCAA.
