In 2002, Fayette County Community Action/Community Opportunities
purchased property which was adjacent to its Uniontown campus development.  An estimated 95% of materials from demolition of the site was recycled in some way.

Office Of Community Services, PA Department of Community and Economic Development,  City of Uniontown (LERTA), County of Fayette (LERTA), Uniontown School District (LERTA),  Federal Enterprise Community,  Richard King Mellon Foundation,  Anonymous Donor,  Allegheny Power.
A few of our builidng features include,  Public Transportation access, Bicycle Storage and Changing Room,  Alternative Fuel Vehicle parking with charging station,  Special parking for car pooling,  Reduced heat island roof through use of  reflective roofing product,  Water efficient landscaping,  two flush toilets, waterless urinals, Sensor controlled faucets, use of solar for power and hot water, Energy Recovery unit, Green Power use, Geothermal heat pump, 100% Green energy, Sensor controlled lighting.  Heat recovery unit maximizes recovery of heat during winter and  drying of air in summer months

 A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Friday May 11, 2007 to open our "green" office building that was designed to be energy-efficient, friendly to the environment and healthy for workers.
Since the building was completed in December, it has cost 30 percent less to operate than the Family Service Center, which opened in 1998, and 50 percent less than the Community Service Center building, which opened in 1989.
