In Fayette County, there are over 20,000 people at risk of hunger. One in five children do not know how, when or where their next meal will be provided.  Because of this great need, Fayette County Community Action Agency, Inc. (FCCAA) will hold our 6th Annual “Empty Bowls” event on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the RAMADA BY WYNDHAM (formerly Park Inn and Holiday Inn), 700 West Main Street Uniontown, PA 15401.

The Empty Bowls event is modeled after an international grassroots effort to fight hunger. For the event, hundreds of handcrafted ceramic bowls have been created and donated by local groups and individuals of all ages. During the event, each attendee will choose a handmade bowl to keep. In addition to the bowl, attendees will receive a bowl of homemade soup, a slice of bread, and a drink. Menu items will be donated from top local restaurants and chefs and served by local politicians and celebrities. There will also be live music, entertainment, and raffles.

Tickets for the event are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. All proceeds will benefit the FCCAA Food Bank and our 49 food pantry sites. For every dollar raised through the event, our Food Bank can purchase ten dollars in food items!
