Farmers Market Checks for WIC Participants and Senior Citizens

The WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program provide WIC participants and low income seniors with locally grown fruits and vegetables from approved farmers in PA.  Below is information regarding applications and checks for each program:   
Farmers market checks will be distributed to WIC participants throughout the summer months at their regularly scheduled WIC appointment.  If you have questions regarding your WIC appointment, please contact the Uniontown WIC office at 724-437-6050 ext. 3211. Eligible participants will receive 4 $6.00 vouchers for a total of $24.00.
Senior citizens:
Applications for the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) will be accepted via mail or email.  SFMNP provides low income seniors with fresh, nutritious, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs from approved farmers in PA. 
To qualify you must be 60 years or older (or turn 60 by 12/31/2020) and meet the following household income guideline: 
1 household member – total income can’t exceed $23,606
2 household members – total income can’t exceed $31,894
Once the application is received, a set of 4 checks, valued at $6 each for a total of $24, will be mailed to the residence of the senior citizen making the request.
