ServSafe Registration
Thank you for your interest in Republic Foods Enterprise Center and FCCAA ServSafe Courses!  Registration Notes:

•             REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION:  Your course registration is only confirmed once we have received payment. Therefore, only credit card payments will confirm your class placement with this registration. You may register online and pay by check, but we will not confirm your registration until the check is received. Additionally, course materials will not be sent until payment is secured. Remember - class sizes are limited.

•             REGISTRATION DEADLINE: the RFEC recommended registration deadline is two weeks prior to the scheduled course date. This is so we have enough time to send your course materials and give you necessary time to study and prepare for the exam. Exceptions may be made to this policy. Please call 724-246-1536 for details.

•             PRE-PAYMENT: Pre-registration and pre-payment is mandatory for all RFEC ServSafe Courses. Registration fees will not be collected on the day of the course.

•             COURSE MATERIALS: All necessary course materials are sent out via UPS two weeks prior to the course date unless otherwise specified. Please note, it is your responsibility to notify us if you have not received your materials prior to the course date.

•             CANCELLATION POLICY: The RFEC has a strict cancellation policy for all RFEC sponsored ServSafe classes. Cancellations made 2 weeks prior to the class date will be charged a $60.00 cancellation fee. Additionally, any unused course materials must be mailed back by traceable means to our office and the materials must be unopened. RFEC cannot reuse opened course materials and therefore will not accept opened items as returns. No exceptions will be made.

•             COURSE TRANSFER POLICY: If you are unable to attend your scheduled course, you may send someone in your place at no charge. Be sure to contact the RFEC so that the change can be made and confirmed.

SERVSAFE COURSE OPTIONS
One Day Course with Classroom Instruction & Proctored Exam:
ServSafe Essentials textbook and answer sheet provided. Registrants study at home and attend one-day instructor led course and proctored exam. Course length is 15 hours, including home study. Registrants must arrive at the course location at 8:00am the day of the course. Recommended for most registrants as this option provides for maximum instruction and learning exposure.

Home Study with Classroom Proctored Exam:
ServSafe Essentials textbook and answer sheet provided. Registrants study at home and attend classroom proctored exam. No classroom instruction provided. Registrants must arrive at the testing facility at 3:30pm the day of the exam. Recommended only for experienced foodservice industry professionals, as there is no instructor guidance or interaction.

Online Course with Classroom Proctored Exam:
Course and study via the Internet. No textbook or classroom instruction provided. Registrants will be provided with course log-in information. Online course length is approximately 8-10 hours. All course applicants will be asked to verify that they have completed the online course by bringing their printed certificate of completion to the testing facility. Registrants must arrive at the testing facility at 3:30pm the day of the exam. Online course requires 56K modem or higher Internet access and is non-refundable.

Retesting:
This option provided for those who must simply re-take the ServSafe exam due to a non-passing score on a previously attended course. Only an answer sheet is provided. Registrants must arrive at the testing facility at 3:30pm the day of the exam.

IMPORTANT NOTE: After January 22, 2011, each retail food facility must have one certified food employee who is accredited by a nationally recognized program, like ServSafe. The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture will no longer be issuing food employee certificates but will accept current certificates until their expiration. A $60.00 transfer fee will be assessed if you cancel less than two weeks prior to the class date.
