Nursing Assistant Training Program

Fayette County Community Action Agency. Inc.’s Community Training Institute is always recruiting interested applicants for its next round of Nursing Assistant class sessions. 7-week class sessions are offered quarterly. The Community Training Institute (CTI) is an onsite training center that Fayette County Community Action Agency, Inc. (FCCAA) developed in 1991. Financial supports to cover tuition may be available for class participants who meet certain eligibility requirements. 

Through CTI, FCCAA offers a Nursing Assistant Training Program includes seven weeks of daytime classroom and clinical instruction to prepare trainees to provide basic care and assist residents with daily living activities. 

The Nursing Assistant Training Program provides students with a full range of instruction: Classroom instruction, which makes up the core of the Nursing Assistant Training Program; laboratory instruction and theory, which provides students with hands-on training; and clinical instruction, the “capstone” of the program that provides the students work experience in an actual long-term care facility – all combine to form a well-rounded graduate who is ready to step into the workforce.

Graduates then must pass the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program Evaluation, scheduled at CTI’s In-Facility test site, to earn certification and placement on the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.

Linkages to CTI provides students with job skills, training, and job placement assistance; however, CTI does not guarantee employment upon completion of the program.

Anticipated Upcoming Session Dates:

  • August 25, 2025 – October 9, 2025
  • October 27, 2025 – December 12, 2025
  • January 12, 2026 – February 27, 2026
  • March 16, 2026 – May 1, 2026

The Experience Works! Program provides residents ages 16-24 with paid work experience at local businesses and organizations to help develop their job and professional skills. Rising seniors and seniors in high school, recent high school graduates and out-of-school youth are eligible to participate. 

The program provides youth with a beneficial and meaningful work experience while giving them an opportunity for growth and a chance to develop strong relationships with well-known professionals and organizations. Some participants are even hired by the organization or business where they completed their work experience.

Additional benefits include an hourly rate of $13 per hour, flexible work schedules and a selection of exciting local worksites.
