Nursing Assistant Program

We are currently recruiting for the Nursing Assistant course that will run from April 3, 2023, through May 18, 2023. Applicants may be eligible for free training through the Workforce Investment Board WIOA grant for youth ages 18-24. Interested applicants can call 724-437-6050 ext 2259.

The Community Training Institute (CTI) is an onsite training center that was developed in 1991.

The Nursing Assistant program is operated through FCCAA CTI.

The Nursing Assistant program includes seven weeks of daytime classroom and clinical instruction to prepare trainees to provide basic care and assist residents with daily living activities.  The classroom is equipped with 2 hospital beds, equipment, assistive devices and supplies needed to practice and acquire skills.

Trainees must meet the following graduation requirements to earn a Certificate of Completion from CTI:

  • 100% attendance
  • a cumulative average of 80% or higher on tests throughout the course and final exam
  • a proficiency of demonstrated skills in the lab and clinical experiences

Graduates then must pass the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program Evaluation, scheduled at CTI’s In-Facility test site, to earn certification and placement on the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.

Pre-employment and job placement services are offered to all trainees and graduates.  Follow-up case management, supportive service, and career guidance are also available.

  • High school/HSE diploma
  • State police criminal background check
  • Doctor’s physical and TB two-step test
  • Completion of the primary vaccination series for Covid-19
